ANZTEC agreement
臺紐經濟合作協定
Signed in 2013, the Agreement between New Zealand and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu on Economic Cooperation (ANZTEC) is only one of three trade agreements Chinese Taipei has signed with foreign trade partners - the others being China, and Singapore.
The ANZTEC Agreement give New Zealand exporters a competitive advantage in several key export areas, including; dairy, meat, fruits, and wine.
The Agreement also emphasises closer film and television production ties, a commitment to liberalise environmental goods and services, and improved cross-border services trade.

UNITE AGAINST COVID-19
Taiwan gives thanks on Double Tenth National Day to allies and like- minded partners for standing with the country in its hours of Covid- 19 need. Once applauded for its Covid-19 response and worldwide donation of masks and PPEs, Taiwan came under intense pressure from a second wave of coronavirus. A swift response from all segments of society-supported by a virtuous circle of donated vaccine doses from friends far and wide-saw Taiwan stage a successful Covid-19 fightback. Touched by this backing and love, the country will continue paying it forward as a force for good in the world.

Taiwan is ranked 8th in World Competitiveness Yearbook 2021.Taiwan is the 21st-largest economy in the world. Taiwan is the 15th-largest exporter and 18th-largest importer, with total trade value ranking 16th in the world. Taiwan is ranked the 4th-best destination for investment. Taiwan, in terms of freedom enjoyed, is ranked 2nd in Asia and 7th in the world; Taiwan, the 5th worldwide and 1st in Asia in terms of freedom on the Net. Taiwan is ranked 43rd among 180 countries and 2nd in Asia in the World Press Freedom Index 2021. Taiwan is ranked the 24th-happiest country in the world and the happiest in Asia.Taiwan was ranked the world’s 2nd-safest country and the safest in East Asia.

Taiwan celebrates Double Tenth National Day as an internationally recognized beacon of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law. This accomplishment underscores a deep-seated commitment to building a kinder, more resilient society in which all voices are heard. When the world is facing challenges such as Covid-19, climate change and environmental degradation, Taiwan is living proof that democracy works while promoting peace, stability, sustainable development and inclusive prosperity.
ECONOMIC STRENGTH
As the sun rises over Taiwan for Double Tenth National Day, it shines on a country in its grandeur. With GDP growth for 2021 estimated at 5.88 percent, Taiwan economy is performing better than at any point in the last decade. Success looks set to continue thanks to farsighted policymaking like the Six Core Strategic Industries plan for transforming Taiwan into a critical force in the global economy. Building on the government’s 5+2 Industrial Innovation Program, it sets out a vision to develop the industries of the future and realise the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
